Here’s a show for you that’s mighty-mighty, four great bands all around with a little something for everybody, and all playing tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River. This party features some of your Austin Music Minute maven’s favorite local hoodlums:
– Make way for a man who truly feels the vibes of his surroundings, an honorary Texan by way of Virginia giving voice to wayward souls with lyrical depth, a weird and wonderful wit, and armed with a ’67 Epiphone (Texan, hello?). Justin Fallen & The Angels headline the gig tonight.
– Don’t tell him what to do. You ain’t the boss of him. He’ll bring it all to the table – country, rock, punk and a freak flag to proudly wave on high for all fellow misfits who just don’t give a damn. It’s Wild Bill & The Lost Knobs, and he’ll having you laughing and maybe even learning a thing or two. Or not. It’s up to you, man. Relax.
– He will gladly christen your ears and mind with whiskey-soaked, lo-fi folk-pop that lingers on in your most haunted dreams. Jesse Woods knows the beauty of all things strange.
– Flowing wild and free like a Texas River, Austin-based folk artist Jacob Alan Jaeger starts out the evening at around 9 p.m.
Don’t miss a single moment. See them all. Very recommended.
