Imagine if Hunter S. Thompson were alive today. The fearless gonzo journalist would most likely be overflowing with commentary on the current chaotic state of affairs, razor sharp observations and acerbic wit locked and loaded, twenty-four friggin’ hours a day.
In honor of Thompson’s birthday – some might say, his insanity – Hotel Vegas and neighboring night spot The Volstead at 1502 E. 6th St. are serving up a party tonight with loads of rock and revelry. Fear and Loathing in Hotel Vegas will feature sets by Kay Odyssey (featured on today’s Austin Music Minute), Magia Negra, Que Pasa, Crocodile Tears, and Lynette & Lefty. The music starts at 9:30 p.m. and it’s a free show.
If things get crazy or out of hand, then they’re doing the party right. Recommended.
