Floating Downstream

Time for a deep breath. Release. Just imagine letting go…

That’s the mantra behind Semihelix‘s latest single, “Downstream,” an ode to shattering old patterns and reemerging with a clearer sense of gratitude. It feels totally connected to the band’s recent release, “Slower Pace,” where guitarist/vocalist Geannie Friedman laments life’s ruthless rush job. Where have all the good times gone? “I don’t know which way to go / Am I moving too fast or slow?”

The new single, and new “Downstream” music video directed by Vajaja (Virginia M. of The Et Ceteras) and Marisa Pool (Suspirians), officially premieres tomorrow, which is also when Semihelix plays at The ABGB, 1305 W. Oltorf. It’s a badass Friday night line-up featuring The Et Ceteras on the bill, and the music starts at 8 p.m.
