Free Week 2017: My Jerusalem

All right, music lovers. Free Week 2017 is in full swing – that magical time of year when you get to see a lot of very cool bands perform at all kinds of local venues with no cover charge at the door. Your humble Austin Music Minute host will continue to repeat the following statement, over and over: No cover, no excuses. Support the bands and buy their merchandise.

Today’s selections include AMM favorite dark lords My Jerusalem at The Swan Dive, 615 Red River. My friend and colleague, John Laird of Side One Track One, curated this delicious bill, which includes Fort Never, Think No Think, Letting Up Despite Great Faults, Migrant Kids, The Wild Now, Booher, The Dizzease, Upper Deck Pets, Lola Tried and Solid State Dream Suit. The music starts early this evening. And my head just exploded. But in a good way.

Another goodie – Name Sayers, Town Hall Devils and Belcurve at Lambert’s, 401 W. 2nd St. Three times the awesome.

Major Major Major takes over the room tonight at The Sidewinder, 715 Red River, along with Runners High, Coattails and Boss Battle on the outside stage; Zachman, recent Studio 1A guests Annabelle Chairlegs, Private Vandals and Blood Pumps on the inside stage. All good.

This is all totally worth bundling up in your favorite winter fashions for. Do it.
