It’s a farewell tour. Fortunately, Gang of Four is making it a Long Goodbye.
Whether you’re just getting started with 1979’s Entertainment!, or an OG hardcore with the 77-81 vinyl box set in your collection, this is a big one. Nearly fifty years after their formation, English post-punk pioneers Gang of Four launched their North American “Long Goodbye” tour last month, and it’s coming through Austin for a show tomorrow night on Mohawk’s outdoor stage. They’ll perform Entertainment! in its entirety to celebrate the album’s 45th anniversary, then follow it with “the best of the rest.” And mad respect for the late Andy Gill, guitarist and co-founding member, undoubtedly fueling the night.
Doors at 8 p.m., with longtime AMM fave Think No Think opening the show.
