Jake Garcia is no stranger to beautiful España. The vocalist and guitarist for Austin-based psych pop-rockers The Ripe has travelled there before for shows with his previous band, The Ugly Beats – which, FYI, the Spanish are absolutely mad for those Ugly Beats and their groovy tunes – and perhaps a time or two with The Black Angels. Now Garcia and Ripe bandmates Nick Yaklin (drums), Gian Ortiz (bass), and Jorge Muñoz (guitar, vocals) are ready to bring some new music and new 7-inch vinyl out to Spain for a tour, with the first date on Nov. 25th, and wrapping up Dec. 7th.
Check out The Ripe before they head out at their 45 record release party tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1502 E. 6th St. The bill features Dan & The Ceiling Fans, Surly Gates, and all the way from Madrid working the turntables tonight, Wolfette.
