Before the intricate finger picking of Longriver, songwriter David Longoria was striking chords on a different plane with artists such as longtime AMM fave Bill Baird, and shredders like …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. The journey’s been diverse, to say the least. But with that kind of talent, it was clear a solo project was on the horizon. Longriver’s 2019 debut Of Seasons dwells within a distinctive beauty and lyrical magic all its own, and a fingerstyle channeling early blues. Longoria gingerly brings these vulnerable spots and insecurities creeping to the surface. Time is merely a concept, only there to help us make sense out of life and death.

Your AMM host has it on good authority that tonight’s Longriver show at Sagebrush will feature Longoria on electric guitar instead of acoustic. He says it’s been awhile, but…this is Longriver we’re talking about. It’s gonna rule. Longriver shares tonight’s bill with Kathy and The Kilowatts, and California-based artist Tony Hannah. The music kicks off at 8 p.m.
