There’s a quiet beauty throughout The Dig‘s 2013 EP, You & I, floating and flowing through an atmospheric swirl of ethereal ’80s-influenced shoegaze and dark psych. It’s an essential collection for one’s rainy-day soundtrack. Even the cover art, a photo of a misty New York skyline captured in a cloudy haze, seems most fitting for the darkly reflective mood.
The Dig’s autumn tour brings them to Austin for a show tonight at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, on the inside stage. And what an impressive bill this is, with local bands Black Books and Young Tongue. Seriously, this is dreampop/shoegaze/atmospheric heaven. Doors open at 9 p.m. Very recommended.
