Keep On Honky Tonkin’

It’s been three years since The White Horse first opened, and it’s seen a lot of action – every manner of country-western, folk-ified, bluegrass, browngrass, conjunto, jazz and rock ‘n’ roll hoodlum has played the red-curtained stage and then some, and people crowd up the dance floor as though it were the last one on earth.

It’s going on as strong as ever, and there’s even a party tonight to celebrate. Swing by The White Horse, 500 Comal St., to catch performances by WH mainstays Mrs. Glass, Old Pony, Shutups, Horse Opera, and yes, that hillybilly for the 23rd Century, Robert Banta, who kicks things off at 9 p.m. So good.

Let your hair down and raise a glass of whiskey (of which there is plenty…and flows far more than Barton Springs) to el Caballo Blanco. Happy 3rd Birthday, White Horse. Recommended.
