The Midnight Strolls‘ Heartbreak Bugaloo has this irresistibly unsettling way of piercing to the core with its cacophony of dark riffs, stripped-down arrangements, and Aaron Behrens‘ wicked falsetto fueling its brooding atmosphere. Something simultaneously eerie and enticing about this tumultuous world of heartbreak that Behrens and collaborator Jonas Wilson have channeled into this album.
This month, The Midnight Stroll launch a weekly residency at the Mohawk, 912 Red River. Catch them there each Wednesday night in February on the Mohawk’s inside stage. Tomorrow night, the Stroll shares the bill with two powerhouse bands, futurepunk duo BLXPLTN and producer/songwriter Timothy Ruch‘s musical project Fort Never. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Seriously. Very recommended.
