New music and a new residency just ahead of a new album from Wilson Marks.

Wilson Marks residency show tonight at Sagebrush, with Lefty Parker, Tear Jerk, and Rusty Dusty.
Today’s AMM offered a little snippet of a preview of Wilson Marks‘ “Isolation Town,” a single dropping Feb. 16, ahead of Marks’ new album later this year. FYI – Keep your ears peeled to hear the track in its entirety on an upcoming KUTX Song of the Day (spoiler alert)!
Those who know (Matt the Electrician, Lindsey Verrill of Little Mazarn, Buck Meek) can tell you Marks’ talent branches off in several directions, from refreshingly original pieces full of wordplay and puns aplenty, to a genre-jumping brilliance within each song. Jon Dee Graham himself has commented on Marks’ “f%cking spectacular” guitarwork.
You may hear the new stuff when Marks kicks off a February residency tonight, Monday Feb. 5, at South Austin’s sparkling gem, Sagebrush. Leave it to YAWN Productions (Jake Ames of Good Looks, The Stacks) to make each line-up a killer one. This week’s show starts at 8 p.m. with a set by Lefty Parker, followed by Marks at 9 p.m., Tearjerk at 10 p.m., and a dose of acid-Americana brought to you by Rusty Dusty at 11p.m. So worth staying up late for.
