Welcome to another fabulous Free Week recommendation from the Austin Music Minute, taking over the room at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River. It truly is fabulous on many levels, by the way. Would you care for some rock with your musical freebee? Then here you go:
– Starting out the evening at 9 p.m. (and featured on today’s AMM) is progressive psych-rock poetry in motion, Yuma. A most refreshing and unique musical experience in the scene – and full disclosure, this shining review comes fresh from witnessing their magic at The Good Music Club‘s recent Free Week taping at Spider House Ballroom.
– Following at 10 p.m. is the band amping up the fabulous factor, Hedwig & The Angry Inch cover stars The Sideways Grimace. Fantastic hair, makeup, and musical tribute to an astoundingly awesome production.
– At 11 p.m., it’s art rock delivered via cosmic connectivity by Casual Strangers. Lose yourself in the immersive interstellar psychedelic voyage.
– Midnight ushers in another divine AMM fave on the Cheer Up stage, dark space-wavers Obscured By Echoes. Revel in the psych-age shadowplay.
Doors open at 9 p.m. Don’t miss out. Recommended.
