Great Music Travels Well

Wiretree immediately caught my attention with the very first album, Bouldin (2007), released originally as the solo project of songwriter and vocalist Kevin Peroni. Since then, especially after the rather addictive Luck (2009), followed by the equally-captivating Make Up (2011), they’ve been one of my favorite local bands.

Exciting times are on the horizon for the quartet. Wiretree is busily preparing for major traveling at the end of April, after receiving an invitation to perform at The Strawberry Festival, one of the biggest festivals in China. They’ve got dates in Beijing and Shanghai, and all this, of course, is happening right before they release a new album this summer.

Don’t miss out on Wiretree’s show tonight at Holy Mountain, 617 E. 7th St. The line-up is fantastic all around: Some Say Leland, songwriter Jordan Moser, and Ghostward. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the music starts at 9 p.m. Definitely a must-see. Recommended.
