Moving Along

The choice is in your hands. Foxglove’s follow-up single shows you the best way to move on.

Foxglove single release show Thursday at Radio East, with NSFWho? and Ash & The Endings.

There’s a wicked bass line from Iavor Dekov thumping at the start of Foxglove‘s “Moving Along,” their new single following their debut EP Ephemeral Daydreams. Guitarists Sam Markoff and Paul Sokolow pause to let the intertwining R&B/funk grooves of Dekov and drummer Chris Cantu sink in. It’s like a slow pulse matching the cool strides one might take while walking on to bigger and better things, which is at the heart of their latest release. Vocalist Ashley Nixon clarifies the point: “I can finally free myself / I don’t answer to anyone else,” she sings, embracing a newfound sense of ownership and release, no longer tied down to deadweight. That fool isn’t even visible in the rear view mirror.

“Moving Along” is out this Friday, and the band celebrates with a single release show tomorrow night, Thursday Aug. 22, at Radio East, 3504 Montopolis Dr. Doors at 8 p.m., with a line-up featuring NSFWho? and alt.-rock/psych outfit Ash & The Endings.
