There’s that little touch of something that not only pulls but strums the heartstrings when you hear Lola Tried‘s five-track EP, Popsicle Queen. Front woman Lauren Burton provides the perfect mix of sweet melodic bliss and jagged heartbroken grit in her vocals, all the right stuff for these rockin’ power-pop tunes.
Burton and the band are headed South for some tour dates, which include stops in Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Atlanta and New Orleans. But before hitting the road, Lola Tried has a tour kickoff show tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1501 E. 6th St. The night will sizzle with The Reputations, Poly Action, and a solo set by Jess Knight (Looming) on the bill. Doors at 9 p.m.
