By the time their first full-length Bound To Find You Out (2011) was released, roots rock outfit Slowtrain was already creating quite a buzz, thanks to their live shows around town and front man and songwriter Adoniram Lipton‘s charismatic performances. There’s something irresistible about piano and organ adding more brilliance to an already-slammin’ pop/rock/blues-infused cascade of guitars and rhythms. It made for one hell of a debut, but fans, brace yourselves for round two. Today’s musical snippet on the Austin Music Minute proves that it’s definitely something to look forward to.
With an extended time spent on writing and delving further into the pop end of the spectrum, the band has been steadily working on the completion of their next full-length with producer Danny Reisch. No word yet on the exact release date, but the AMM was given an exclusive sneak preview of the track “When I Walk Into the Room.” That’s the track you hear on today’s segment spotlighting Slowtrain’s show tonight at The Sahara Lounge, 1413 Webberville Rd. Sharing the bill are local country rock/death folk bandits Tennessee Stiffs and songwriter and producer extraordinaire Jonas Wilson (The Plastic Habit, The White White Lights, Lomita). Doors open at 9 p.m. So recommended for your Wednesday night.
