It’s such a lovely predicament. There are so many great shows going on tonight that it was quite difficult to focus on just one for the weekend Austin Music Minute. So, quite selfishly, your humble AMM hostess has selected a handful of picks for you to choose from:
Two treats going on at the Mohawk, 912 Red River. Get there at 4 p.m. today for a fabulous Beach Party, with music provided by Burgess Meredith and The Preservation. Then, later in the evening, there’s a killer line-up at the Mohawk with Grape St., Frank Smith, Booher and Elvis (that’s a band, dear, stop it with the raised eyebrows…).
The stage at the Scoot Inn will be on fire tonight with one-man wonder band Possessed By Paul James. And this is one of those tasty triple bills with two other AMM faves, Mrs. Glass and Mockingbird Loyals. Doors open at 7 p.m., according to the website. 1308 E. 4th at Navasota. Get you some.
Bam. There goes my heart. Bobby Jealousy headlines a show tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1502 E. 6th St. Get crazy with the lot – Say Thing, Berkshire Hounds, and Light Me Up. Music starts at 10 p.m.
Another biggie tonight at Antone’s, 2015 E. Riverside Dr., with What Made Milwaukee Famous, Slowtrain and The Gorgeous Hands. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Enjoy the night. And remember – this is a typical night in the Live Music Capital. Embrace it. Recommended.
