A waltz on the dance floor, a pang in the heart. Sentimental Family Band shines at Sam’s Town Point.
Today’s Love Austin Music Month AMM mini-love fest presents an Austin trio that bonded over their love for classic country, specifically a very distinctive sound out of Bakersfield. It’s true that Sentimental Family Band has a big place in their collective hearts for early Nashville country, but there’s an extra pitter-patter for Buck Owens, an artist who gave country “a much needed shot in the arm” back in the day, according to podcast Cocaine and Rhinestones. SFB’s Camille Lewis, Kyle Albrecht, and Matthew Shepherd beautifully emanate that swoon-worthy twang on “Never Love Again” (featured on KUTX and today’s AMM), “Talking To Strangers” and “Face To A Name.”
Caught that tiger by the tail. Sentimental Family Band continues their residency at Sam’s Town Point in South Austin with a show tonight, Thursday Jan. 25. Their set starts at 9 p.m.
