Who: It’s been five years since local quintet Whalers first hit the scene with their aquatically-themed EPs. These pop-rock masters have mad love for dreamy surf-rock but aren’t afraid to add an extra edge to the beachy vibes.
What: After releasing Submarine Sun digitally last spring, Whalers is ready to unleash their debut album on vinyl with a party to celebrate, of course.
When: See them play tonight.
Where: Stubb’s indoor venue, 801 Red River. Newcastle homeboy Nic Armstrong opens the show with Brit-style roq et rolle.
Why: Once again, the AMM cannot emphasize enough the importance of seeing Whalers play live. It’s a guaranteed dynamic performance from these gents. So recommended.
