Slack Capital 2

It’s always a great time to represent. And Austin musicians know how to do it best.

Last year, your humble Austin Music Minute maven gave you the scoop on Slack Capital, an excellent 20-track compilation by local artists, lovingly pooled together by Austin Town Hall RecordsNathan Lankford and Big Bill front man Eric Braden. Both were determined to put the spotlight on the wide variety of music genres to be found in Austin, if one takes the time to look, in addition to raising funds for local nonprofit organization Anthropos Arts.

This year, the awesomeness continues with Slack Capital 2, bringing in 27 new tracks by 27 local artists, with proceeds of its sales going directly to SafePlace. High praises once again for Lankford and Braden, who’ve assembled another impressive, multi-genre comp capturing the multi-faceted styles and boundless energy of the local scene.

Slack Capital 2 will be available at the big release party tomorrow night at Barracuda, 611 E. 7th St., featuring performances by some of the comp’s contributing artists, including Pataphysics, The Diamond Center (featured on today’s AMM), Daniel Francis Doyle and The Dreams, Mom Jeans, Croy and The Boys, David Israel, Go Fever, and Nike. Doors open at 9 p.m. All great music, and all for a most worthy cause. Recommended.
