Sound On Sound Fest: Saturday and Sunday

One down, two to go. Still so much more to see! You’ve a busy weekend ahead at Sound On Sound Fest at Sherwood Forest, and your friendly neighborhood Austin Music Minute host is here with another handful of recommendations:

-Head out to ye olde festival grounds early this afternoon to catch Moving Panoramas, Hard Proof, The Relationship and Wild Nothing slay it at the Dragon’s Lair. If the Lair is your hotspot for the remainder of the day, don’t miss The Dead Milkmen (fingers so crossed for “Bitchin Camero,” but no promises made here…), Deerhunter, Big Boi and Beach House later this evening. Anya, Tiny Moving Parts, Orthy and Bleached start out the afternoon at the Forest stage, with Car Seat Headrest and Jagwar Ma (“Uncertainty” is featured on today’s AMM) on the same stage tonight. Also tonight, absolutely wrecking the Keep stage, is The Dillinger Escape Plan. Yes, yes and YES.

-Tomorrow afternoon at the Dragon’s Lair, catch Emily Wolfe, Leopold and His Fiction, and Bully kicking off the fest, with Night Drive and The Frights on the Forest stage, and Sailor Poon getting the day started on the Keep stage. Then, it’s a lovely wrap-up to the weekend with Bob Mould, White Lung, and Courtney Barnett. Explosions In the Sky will send you off into the night with a bang.

Once again, go forth and conquer. But if you insist on jousting, please be mindful of the people dancing around you. Thanks.
