Last May, The Deer released the beautiful and expansive Tempest & Rapture, the title of which reflects different sides of the band. Frontwoman and vocalist Grace Park describes one side as a kind of “transcendental Texas folk,” while the other incorporates a myriad of influences ranging from jazz to bluegrass, indie to prog-rock.
Tempest & Rapture is now available as a double-vinyl collection, and The Deer marks the special release with a show tonight at Strange Brew Lounge Side, 5330 Manchaca Rd. Very recommended.
