Tonight marks the second installment of the wonderfully irreverent June residency of jitter-punk Austin Music Minute dreamboats Big Bill at Eastside psych haven The Electric Church, 5018 E. Cesar Chavez. Perhaps you wouldn’t typically think of finding Big Bill tearing it up in a space known for mostly psyched-up musical trip-outs, but it’s the perfect spot to shake things up and abandon expectations at the door. And bottom line: It’s all about the good times.
Tonight’s Big Bill show includes Suspirians (previously featured on the AMM), who are celebrating the release of their new LP Ti Bon Ange; pop/punked-up quartet Soaked; and hazy slackergaze outfit Soda Lilies. Doors open at 9 p.m. So very recommended.
