Ty Segall does it again…and again. It’s an autobiographical, beautiful trip on his latest LP.
It’s tough to pin a favorite track on Ty Segall’s Three Bells. KUTX has been featuring “My Room,” and perhaps you caught the title track during Segall’s Studio 1A performance this afternoon. So. Good. But your AMM host (despite being really swept up by the mighty “Void”) decided to share “My Best Friend” on today’s AMM segment, along with its ridiculously adorable video directed by Segall, produced by collaborator/partner/all-around badass Denée Segall, and starring Herman and Fanny Segall in their fabulous debut performance…being themselves.
And, referencing what your fan girl AMM host was gushing on about in Studio 1A today: Three Bells is taking things to another level in terms of songwriting sophistication and exploration, and an unexpected beauty. Hell yes, there’s beauty in this unpredictability, the random directions, rocking out while looking inward.
