The Dan Ryan is not a single individual, but a band, originally started as a side project by songwriter Nathan Dixey in Lawrence, KS in 2011. They moved to Austin a year later and recorded their long-playing, dreamlike self-titled EP, followed by their 2014 debut album, also quite ethereal in its striking blend of earthy, rhythmic, trance-like psych. An instant Austin Music Minute favorite!
And the AMM is thrilled to announce an excellent bill tonight at Lambert’s, 401 W. 2nd St., featuring The Dan Ryan and songwriter Adam Torres., whose album Nostra Nova has also been featured on the AMM. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. This one is very recommended.
