Your humble Austin Music Minute maven does it again. It’s so easy to obsess over what I’ve conveniently coined as the triple bill. They’re pretty much cut and dry: Three local bands on one fabulous bill, and this one in particular serves as a reminder that, while there will be loads of aftershows in between very busy ACL Fest weekends, there is always fantastic music to be had in our fair city.
Tonight, it’s fuzzed-up shoegazey brilliance with local trio Ringo Deathstarr, garage/surf/punk quartet La Migra, and psych-gypsy rock outfit The Venus Illuminato, all performing at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, on the inside stage. Doors open at 9 p.m. Just do it. Recommended.
