This week, the Austin Music Minute is counting down the days ’til Austin Psych Fest 2014, starting Friday and lasting through Sunday at Carson Creek Ranch. The AMM will also feature bands playing the festival kick-off shows happening Thursday night at both Red 7 and the Mohawk.
Today we feature San Francisco band Sleepy Sun, and the track “Galaxy Punk” from their latest album Maui Tears.
Dude. Something wickedly awesome about a band that manages to be laid back while seriously shredding and ripping distorted guitars and basically rocking your face off at the same time. Maui Tears is Northern California psych melding perfectly together with explosive ’60s garage riffs.
