Urban Music & Cultural Festival, today at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park.

The Urban Music & Cultural Festival celebrates 20 years of fostering community engagement and music development in Central Texas. The idea originated from the Austin Quality of Life Initiative, addressing more beneficial socio-economic conditions for the African American community.

This year’s music line-up includes soul/R&B songwriter Raheem DeVaughn, the ultimate OG disco/funk/soul/R&B outfit Midnight Star, R&B artist Carl Thomas, Houston rapper Lil’ Flip, Southern soul artist Myia B, Houston saxophonist Kyle Turner paying tribute to New Orleans jazz violinist Michael Ward, the Soul Tree Alumni, and DJ AC.

This year’s festival takes over Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park. Doors at 1 p.m.
