It may have very well all began with someone opening his or her big mouth.
With all due respect, it’s very likely that somebody out there noticed a few similarities in some of the local band names going round, and complained about how confusing it all was. Fair enough. But part of the brilliance of bands like the White Ghost Shivers is that they have a sense of humor about it all. Not like the people complaining. Rather than kowtow to the moaners and gripers, they and other like-minded bands thought it would be marvelous to turn all the confusion into one big show. That’s the ticket!
Presenting the 2nd Annual Confusapalooza – or maybe, Confusapalooza II, Eccelctic Boogaloo, if you like, where all the band names blur together in a whirlwind good time. This marks the second year of Confusapalooza festivities, and it’s bound to be another great shindig this year, happening tonight at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St. Take a gander at this grand ridiculousness: Of course, there’ll be hoakum, smoke ’em old-timey goodness with the White Ghost Shivers, trashgrass mow-downs with Whiskey Shivers, drunkgrass devilry courtesy of Clyde & Clem’s Whiskey Business, and blues rock so ribcage-rattling your sides will split with The Ghost Wolves.
Losing your mind yet? Good. Get there after 9 p.m. and get ready for one big brain fry. So recommended it’s killin’ me.
