Wonder Women of Country‘s forthcoming self-titled debut may be the first album for the trio, but it’s safe to surmise this one’s gonna shine. One listen to “Another Broken Heart” and it instantly has the feel of a timeless classic, though the LP’s songs were recorded in 2023. But it should come as no surprise. The collective talents of singularly outstanding artists Kelly Willis, Melissa Carper and Brennan Leigh have captured the uniqueness of that sound you get on the road, show after show, from the coziest venues to honky-tonk dance halls.
The album release show will be a special one. Witness the magic of Wonder Women of Country as they celebrate their new LP with a performance Thursday, April 25, at The 04 Center, 2701 S. Lamar Blvd. Doors at 7 p.m.
