Austin Opera – The Marriage of Figaro

November 11 & 14

An all-star cast is led by rising star soprano and Austin native Elena Villalón, who makes her hometown debut as the wily Susanna. The cast also includes Caitlin Lynch in her Austin Opera debut as the Countess, a role she has performed at the Metropolitan Opera; Christian Zaremba, who was last seen in Austin’s 2019 Silent Night, in his role debut as Figaro; Michael Adams making his Austin Opera and role debuts as the Count; Lindsay Metzger as Cherubino and Alissa Anderson as Marcellina in their Austin Opera debuts; and Austin favorites Matthew Treviño as Doctor Bartolo and Kathryn Grumley as Barbarina. The Austin Opera Orchestra will be conducted by Timothy Myers, the Sarah and Ernest Butler Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor. E. Loren Meeker, the General & Artistic Director of OPERA San Antonio, makes her company debut as the production’s director.


Austin Shakespeare – Twelfth Night

November 5-21, 2021
Thursday – Saturday, at 7:30 p.m.
Sundays at 3:00 p.m.

Journey with Austin Shakespeare through the world of Bollywood to explore the romantic comedy of Twelfth Night, where a girl disguised as a boy falls hopelessly in love.  “If music be the food of love… play on” with music from Austin’s Nagavalli and choreography by Prakash Mohandras.  Duke Orsino played by guest artist, Tamil Periasamy from “Indian Ink.”


Rolling Stones – No Filter Tour

Arts on Alexander – The Gesualdo Six | English Motets

Friday, November 12, 2021 @ 7:30 p.m.

During the Renaissance, musical composition flourished, but it was a time of great change, fueled by religious division. This program traces music written by some of the English Renaissance masters over a period of two hundred years, encompassing florid medieval-sounding works by Sheppard and Forest, intricately woven polyphonic works by Tallis and Byrd, and the beautiful simplicity of Tomkins and White. 


Big Medium Austin Studio Tour

3 Weekends – November 6-21

The Austin Studio Tour introduces the public to new ways of experiencing art and the creative practices of artists around our city. This year, the studio tour combines the former East and West Austin Studio Tours into one citywide event presented across three weekends in November.

Now in its 20th iteration, the Austin Studio Tour has become an Austin tradition and continues Big Medium’s mission of fostering connections between artists while presenting the public with a rare opportunity to engage and connect with many of the creatives that help define the culture of our city.
