50 years ago, the British invaded the U.S. in the form of the Beatles, the Stones, the Who, and more. This week, Austin musicians are paying tribute with a show at ACL Live, featuring local favorites alongside British Invasion veterans like Eric Burdon and the Zombies. On the Austin Music Experience, we talk with Eric Burdon about the Animals, teaming up with Bruce Springsteen, and where the term ‘British Invasion’ came from. Plus, Centro-Matic, Shinyribs, Alejandro Escovedo, and Ian McLagan’s British Invasion covers, hard-rocking Philly group Strand of Oaks in our Studio 1A, back and forth with Loudon Wainwright III, and more. Join us Sunday at 6pm on KUTX 98.9 and KUTX.org.
