Poets Of Our Time

Terry Boothe grew up a fan of Texas music and the people just to the right of the spotlight: the songwriters. He didn’t think they were getting their due, so he formed the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association, an organization that recognizes the extraordinary minds behind some of music’s best-known hits. On March 3, the THSA will celebrate its 8th annual Hall of Fame Awards at ACL Live at the Moody Theater by honoring Sonny Curtis, Roger Miller, and Ronnie Dunn, featuring performances by Toby Keith, Larry Gatlin, Jack Ingram, and many more. Texas Music Matters’ David Brown spoke with Terry Boothe about the THSA, its mission, and what the future holds for these “poets of our time.” Take a listen below.
