The Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival

is back for its 27th year on Sunday, August 20, 2017

What began as a small hot sauce contest in 1990 has grown into the largest competition of its kind and one of Austin’s largest and best-known annual food events, drawing as many as 10,000 spectators and over 350 entries each year. Sample hundreds of salsa from all over Central Texas, dine on local foods, and enjoy live music. Get ready to eat the heat!

The festival is free to the public, but organizers ask that they bring nonperishable food to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.
