Pop-Up Sessions from Luck Reunion 2022
Every year during SXSW, Willie Nelson and family invite music fans to their compound outside of Spicewood, TX for Luck Reunion, a day of live music, BBQ, and maybe a little of Willie’s left-handed tobacco. Our crew was on hand to capture stripped down performances with some of this year’s performers, and we’re excited to share them with you. So roll one up and enjoy our pop-up sessions from Luck Reunoin 2022!
Adia Victoria – “Magnolia Blues”
Adia Victoria enchanted us at Luck Reunion with her darkly atmospheric song, “Magnolia Blues.” The gritty and swampy guitar mixes so perfectly with her honey voice, that you can almost see the magnolias bloom. You can find “Magnolia Blues” on Adia Victoria’s 2021 album A Southern Gothic. Be sure to check out her latest single, “Ain’t Killed Me Yet.”
Allison Russell – “Hy-Brasil”
Sweeping harmonies full of longing and power filled the air around Allison Russell’s performance at Luck Reunion. Her song “Hy-Brasil” sounds like it’s been sung a thousand years and will survive a thousand more. Featuring a cello and clarinet, Russell’s set blew us all away. “Hy-Brasil” is on her debut album Outside Child.
Abraham Alexander – “Heart of Gold”
Abraham Alexander proves that Ft. Worth is quickly becoming one of the state’s best places to find exciting new music. Alexander has shared the stage with the likes of Black Pumas and is in the process of putting together a new album. His performance of “Heart of Gold” in our travel trailer turned recording studio was one of our favorites from this year’s Luck Reunion.
