Bee Caves 3.9.2016

Look out west during the sunset in Austin, past all the noise and traffic, and you will be viewing a lush green wilderness highlighted with a comforting orange and pink hue. That image is evoked when listening to the local Austin band, Bee Caves. With a euphoric, Americana sound in line with Israel Nash and the grand intensity of Kings of Leon, Bee Caves’ music has an aura that feels like sunlight is cascading all around you. The band is made up of members, Reed Calhoun on lead vocals and guitar, Sam Kearney on guitar, Mike Reynolds on keyboard, Barbara FG on bass guitar, and Allie Armstrong on backing vocals. With SXSW shows at Israel Nash’s Studio on Thursday, March 17th, and an official SXSW showcase at The Parish on Friday, March 18th, Bee Caves are one band you should definitely see during the week long chaotic festivities.

Bee Caves were able to stop by Studio 1A on Wednesday and play some of their music for us. If you weren’t able to catch it live fear not, you can listen to it here, on KUTX.
