Calliope Musicals wants to be the greatest show on Earth. It’s their effort to spread love and positivity. Self-described as a psychedelic party folk band with endeavors in disco honky-tonk, this Austin six-piece channels youthful energy that shows how much enjoyment can be found in life.
Calliope Musicals draws influence from David Bowie, Paul Simon, Talking Heads, and Animal Collective but maintains loyalty to Circus on the Moon, a local artists’ collective they helped found in hopes of exploring the genuine freedom that songwriting offers.
