You know that phrase, “You can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl”? Well, if the girl in that phrase hadn’t come from the country, she’d be Carson McHone.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas the 23-year-old has already made quite a name for herself as an alt-country/Americana singer-songwriter. McHone released her debut self titled EP in 2013 and has since had her vocals featured on Shinyribs‘ Okra Candy, as well as on Ray Wylie Hubberd’s Chick Singer Badass Rockin. In 2014 McHone was selected as one of six songwriters to represent the City of Austin in “Project #ATX6,” a group that has played showcases in Toronto, Canada at NXNE (North By Northeast Festival) and toured Northern Germany, culminating in a sold out out showcase at the Reeperbahn Festival. Lately McHone has shared the stage with Ryan Bingham, Lydia Loveless, Charlie Mars, and Shakey Graves while touring the local scene in promotion of her full-length album, Goodluck Man, released this past Saturday.
