Cilantro Boombox, an Austin-based band that mixes reggae, salsa and blues among other styles into their own danceworthy blend, dropped by KUTX’s Studio 1A for a high energy three-song set. They debuted their new single ‘Fears Away’ and have a release party coming up this Friday, May 2 at Gypsy Lounge.
You can also catch them at La Condesa’s Cinco de Mayo celebration this Sunday, May 4.
The group began in 2010 as a collaboration between bassist/DJ Felix Pacheco and saxophonist/flutist Joe Woullard (of Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears) and grew exponentially. Their debut album, Cilantro Boombox, came out in 2012. Here they are in Studio 1A!
