Austin-based indie alternative rock quartet Dacoit sounds like they’re fresh out of the ’90s.
The group takes its name from the historical term ascribed to a member of an armed band of armed robbers in India or Burma. With Zoe Yin on vocals and keyboard, Jake Hiebert on vocals and drums, Thomas Boswell on guitar and Matias Pasch on bass, Dacoit brings a calm energy to their listener’s ears. Yin’s vocals float on top of a full and rounded out sound that consistently resonates through their grooves, with Boswell’s guitar providing an extra garage rock punch.
