Austin singer-songwriter Darden Smith preaches the healing power of music through a variety of songwriting workshops and seminars with everybody ranging from wounded soldiers and homeless youth to corporate retreats. That desire to help people through music, especially his Songwriting With: Soldiers workshop with wounded veterans is a big part of what inspired him to step back into the studio and record his first album in 4 years. The album, Everything, is a collection of songs that speak to our shared experiences and an innate desire to spread love. Darden Smith stopped by Studio 1A to talk about his work with Songwriting With: Soldiers and encourage people to show their support during Amplify Austin starting this Thursday at 6 p.m. Listen to his session in the player below!
