When Austin band Ghosts Along the Brazos writes or performs music they have one goal: go for truth. They have a sort of mantra embedded in the bio posted on their website that speaks to their philosophy on music: “Play and write music that you believe in, and others will believe in it too.” Apparently, it works for them. Ghosts Along the Brazos have earned their share of believers in the less-than-a-year that they’ve been a part of the Austin music scene. Recently, they landed themselves on four of the Austin Chronicle’s top 10 lists, including number 2 on the Best New Band list. Their genre-blending music crosses between blues, folk, swing and jazz, all the while bleeding the truth that Ghosts Along the Brazos strive so hard for.
On Sunday night, Ghosts Along the Brazos will play a CD release show at Threadgill’s. Today, they’ll stop by Studio 1a to record a few songs for KUTX. Be sure to check back here and listen in!
