Israel Nash 7.26.18

For Israel Nash, moving to Central Texas 10 years ago was more than a chance to take advantage of Austin’s booming music scene, in addition to providing the perfect setting to raise a family it was a chance to reimagine his sound and reinvent his creative process. This meant building a custom studio on his Dripping Springs ranch and inviting the Austin music scene over to his place to jam. The studio, Plum Creek Sound, serves as Nash’s laboratory and allowed him to experiment with everything from old recording equipment to “found” sounds on his new album, Lifted. The album is the spiritual successor to his previous album, Rain Plans, but uses his new studio and new friends to full effect. The songs are bigger, more expansive and Nash’s grasp on 70s rock aesthetic is even more dialed in than before. Israel Nash and his band stopped by Studio 1a before playing an album release show at Scoot Inn.
