Lost Bayou Ramblers hail from where you would think a band called “Lost Bayou Ramblers” would hail from: southern Louisiana. It’s there that they started playing traditional, primarily acoustic Cajun music. They’ve toured across the US, Canada and Europe playing in this classic Cajun style, but for their latest album, Mammoth Waltz, the band decided to change things up a bit. The group added some of their more modern influences into the mix, sounds taken from the music they listen to on a daily basis. The resulting new sound is a blend of new and old and rock and Cajun, and overall it’s a great sound.
Lost Bayou Ramblers will play a show tonight at the Continental Club. Earlier today, Lost Bayou Ramblers came by KUTX to record a live set. Give it a listen below!
