Lukas Nelson 5.23.22

On his recent visit to Studio 1A, a rare solo Lukas Nelson took our studio audience through a quick set of songs spanning 10+ years of making music with his band Promise Of The Real, including a new one, “Wrong House.” A self-professed “silly song” that follows a slightly befuddled individual as he enjoys the comforts of a stranger’s home. It’s classic Lukas Nelson storytelling with a bit of self-referential humor to let the listener in on the joke. That willingness to share personal stories and struggles is part of what makes his music so approachable. We can all relate to being a little lost at one time or another.

In addition to poking fun at himself in the new song, Nelson shared with Jody Denberg that he first became interested in music as a way to get closer to his perpetually touring father. A shared passion that brings the two together regularly to perform and swap songs.

Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real take the stage at Stubb’s Wednesday, May 25th as part of a more extensive summer tour taking them across the South. Watch his performance from Studio 1A and follow along with Lukas and band at the links below.
