Molly Burch 10.1.18

Two years ago, Molly Burch was a young songwriter digging her heels and into the Austin music scene and putting the final touches on her debut album, Please Be Mine. Almost immediately, she became an NPR darling, finding her smooth, downtempo jazz-influenced tunes on airwaves across the country and being streamed overseas. She spent the last year touring all across the US, Europe, and the UK, finally settling back into the quiet Texas landscape to feel the open air, take in the self-care, and begin work on her next album. Her sophomore LP First Flower has Burch taking to heart that her music and lyrics resonate so deeply with her listeners, so her songwriting this time around turns the lens on her own mind and soul. While effortlessly beautiful, these songs are about the tough shares: relationships, anxiety, fear, and her struggles that stem from them. Before gracing the Austin City Limits stage and hitting the road for a US/European tour, she graced our stage and treated our audience to an intimate night showcasing her new material.

Molly Burch’s First Flower LP release is at Barracuda Saturday, October 20th.
