Parker Gispert (Solo) 1.25.19

After forming the Whigs while he was in college a decade and a half ago and creating five successful albums with the band, Parker Gispert stepped away in 2017 to put forth his first solo effort. Gispert didn’t want to merely capitalize on his success with the Whigs by creating very similar music, so he opted for a largely acoustic record with little accompaniment. With less instruments, he was free to experiment with his voice, employing techniques like singing in falsetto. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of his new work in person. The new album, out on Normaltown Records, is called Sunlight Tonight. Scroll down to get a recap of his session live in Studio 1A complete with an interview!
