Shivery Shakes 09.17.19

Shivery Shakes were sewn together by escapism and happenstance after years of playing together in the local Austin music scene. Their first releases in 2012 and 2013 were summery pop manifestos on how to party like a beach bum even if you’re landlocked. They broadened their horizons and tightened up their sparkly melodies for their 2015 debut LP Three Waves and a Shake. After extensive touring of Three Waves, the band wanted to expand their sound further, exploring fuzzier hooks and darker themes. A year and a half of evolving new songs and sounds lead to two years in the studio crafting a new album, Weird Weather. The new full-length effort brandishes the same level of musical sensibility, while exploring depths that are as haunting as they are inviting.

Shivery Shakes stopped by Studio 1A on September 17, ahead of the release of their new record Weird Weather, out September 20 on Austin Town Hall Records. Listen to and watch the full session below.
