Sour Bridges play what they have dubbed “browngrass,” a dirty, gritty version of bluegrass that is freewheelin’ and light in spirit.
A high-energy combination of Americana, folk, bluegrass, and good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll, Sour Bridges features Bill and Matt Pucci on guitars and vocals, Kat Wilkes on fiddle, Jackson Ellis on bass and vocals, and Dalton Chamblee on drums. Their last album Catfish Charlie, which came out in 2013, was full of vocal harmonies and ear-catching strings, a collection of tunes warm in their pleasant melodic familiarity and with a distinct, playful energy running throughout. The band is now set to release their new self-titled album in May.
You can catch a performance by Sour Bridges at their Wednesday residency at the Cactus Cafe throughout the month of February or at the White Horse on February 24th. You can also stream their music right here on KUTX.
