The Cuckoos are prepared to make big waves in 2020 with the release of their debut full-length album, I Hate Love, out on January 24. With their unique sound covering everything from classic rock to psychedelic funk, the Austin-based group promises a good time with a healthy dose of angst on every track. The upcoming album is the first recorded effort with all four of the group’s members and sees The Cuckoos coming into their own with confidence. They dropped by Studio 1A to give us a sneak peek of their new songs and discuss how they’re making the keytar cool. Be sure to catch their release show this Saturday, January 25, at Cheer Up Charlie’s where they’ll be joined by Billy King and the Bad Bad Bad, The Halfways, Pelvis Wrestley, and Indoor Creature. For even more of The Cuckoos, the group will also have a free Waterloo Records in-store performance on January 30 at 5:30 pm.
The Cuckoos are made up of Kenneth Frost, Dave North, Eric Ross, and Cole Koenning.
